Is this fence galvanized before or after weaving - and why does it matter?

Our standard supply is GAW, galvanized after weaving, so the zinc seals the twisted joints. GBW (galvanized before weaving) fabric cracks its zinc skin at every twist and typically shows red rust at those points within a few seasons. For any permanent perimeter, GAW to ASTM A392 Class 1 is the baseline we recommend, and every lot ships with the coating weight report.

Class 1 or Class 2 zinc coating - which fits my climate?

Class 1 (366 g/m²) covers inland and urban sites for roughly 15-20 years before first maintenance. Within about 1 km of the coast, on salted road corridors or in humid tropics, step up to Class 2 heavy zinc (610 g/m²) or the PVC-coated version of this fence. Tell us the site conditions and we will quote both options.

Knuckle or twist selvedge - how do I pick the edge finish?

Knuckle-knuckle (KK) folds both edges smooth and is the safe default for playgrounds, schools and public areas. Twist (barbed) selvedge leaves sharp points that deter climbing, so security perimeters usually order knuckle-bottom / twist-top (KB). Rolls of 1.2 m and under are commonly KK; tell us your application and we will set the selvedge accordingly.

Which wire diameter should I order - 2.5, 3.0 or 4.0 mm?

2.5 mm covers gardens, farms and light residential boundaries; 3.0 mm (about 11 gauge) is the commercial norm for schools, sports courts and highways; 4.0 mm (about 8 gauge) resists cutting tools and is specified for substations, airports and prisons. If you are unsure, 3.0 mm wire in 50 mm mesh is the industry default and our fastest-moving SKU.

How is the fence packed, and how many rolls fit one container?

Rolls are machine-compacted to shrink diameter, wrapped in woven bags or kraft paper, and loaded loose or on pallets; a 40HQ typically takes 350-500 rolls depending on roll height and wire diameter. We share a loading plan with photos before departure, and matching posts, top rails, tension wire and fittings can be consolidated in the same container.

Chain link is the default perimeter fabric where visibility, airflow and budget all matter: sports courts and school playgrounds run 2.5-3.0 mm wire for safe impact absorption, highways, airports and industrial yards step up to 3.0-4.0 mm for cut resistance, and farms or garden boundaries use light 2.5 mm rolls that a two-person crew can tension by hand.
