Compare Quotes and Plan the Installation

Compare PVC coated hexagonal wire netting by its construction and finished dimensions. The two worked examples below explain purchasing calculations; they do not add supply specifications to the SKU table. Compare Steel Core and Finished Diameter

The same outside diameter can contain different steel core sizes. Compare the core, any metallic coating and the PVC jacket separately. Worked example, not an offered specification: a 1.2 mm finished diameter over a 0.8 mm diameter immediately beneath a uniform circular PVC jacket gives a radial jacket thickness of (1.2 − 0.8) ÷ 2 = 0.2 mm. A thicker jacket is not the same as a thicker steel core or a verified strength rating.

Choose Galvanized or PVC Coated Netting

Compare galvanized netting when the metallic finish meets the project brief. Consider a PVC outer jacket when a polymer surface or coordinated color is required. For PVC over galvanized wire, specify both layers; color alone does not establish the underlying coating or outdoor service life.

Choose Twisted Netting or Welded Mesh

Twisted hexagonal roll netting is an option for shaped guards and light enclosure infill. Compare welded mesh when the brief calls for welded intersections or a more rigid panel format. Make the decision using opening geometry, wire dimensions, supports and the required duty, rather than the shared PVC finish.

Estimate Roll Quantity Before Ordering

Worked layout example, not an offered roll size: a 40 m boundary with a 2 m gate leaves 38 m to cover. Assuming 25 m per roll and one 0.15 m overlap, two full rolls provide 2 × 25 − 0.15 = 49.85 m of continuous coverage. Check the cutting layout, additional joints, corners and any returns separately. Use the roll length agreed for your order, not the assumed example length, for the final quantity.

Plan Fixings and Protect the Finish

Agree suitable posts, frames and fasteners before installation. Avoid dragging or fastening methods that damage the jacket, and agree how cut ends will be finished. Follow the approved installation details; inspect joints, fixings and damaged areas during maintenance and ask the supplier about compatible repairs.
