Steel Core and PVC Coating: What to Specify
Separate the Wire Specification from the Finish
The steel wire grid and its outer coating need separate acceptance requirements. State the base-wire grade, metallic undercoat and coating sequence, then specify the PVC finish and color. Request the proposed construction in writing rather than assuming that every vinyl coated welded mesh panel has the same zinc layer or coating process.
