Inconel Mesh for Chemical Processing and Thermal Applications
Chemical processing, gas turbines and jet engines are the listed application areas for this product family. Define the actual mesh function, process medium, operating temperature and support arrangement before selecting the wire grade. An alloy's use in an industry does not establish approval of this mesh for a particular component or operating duty.

Inconel 600 and 625: Specify the Alloy Before the Mesh
Different Grades, Different Chemistry
Inconel 600 (UNS N06600) is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy used where heat and corrosion resistance are required. Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) contains molybdenum and niobium in a nickel-chromium matrix and is used in demanding corrosive environments. They are separate grades, not interchangeable names for one composition. The element ranges shown below are existing product-family catalog data: they are not the limiting chemistry of either grade and must not be used for material acceptance. State the exact alloy designation and governing material specification, then agree the required heat-specific documentation before ordering. The original alloy producer's technical bulletins are linked below for grade-specific information.
- Ni: 58-72
- Cr: 14-22
- Fe: ≤8.0
- Mo: 0-9
Match Wire Cloth Geometry to the Service Conditions
- Grade selection:Treat 600 and 625 as distinct material options. Compare the specified process conditions against grade-specific data rather than choosing from the Inconel family name alone. INCONEL is a trademark of the Special Metals group; its mention does not identify the wire producer or establish an affiliation.
- Mesh and opening:Specify mesh count together with wire diameter and clear aperture. The catalog table describes mesh geometry; it is not a tested particle-retention or pressure-drop rating. Confirm the required weave and measuring basis in the order.
- Temperature and atmosphere:Provide normal and peak temperature, exposure duration, atmosphere and thermal cycling. An alloy bulletin's typical properties or melting range do not establish a continuous operating-temperature limit for a finished wire mesh assembly.
- Dimensions and installation:Include finished width and length, quantity, edge requirements and a drawing of the support or attachment arrangement. Identify any forming or joining requirements for review with the proposed material and mesh specification.
Inconel Wire Mesh RFQ and Inspection Checklist
Define the alloy and finished cloth requirements separately. ASTM E2016-22 is a reference for industrial woven wire cloth; agree its applicability, edition and acceptance criteria for the ordered construction. A reference to this standard is not a declaration that the supplied mesh is certified or compliant. The checklist below identifies information to agree with the quotation, rather than assigning unverified tolerance values.
| Check item | Specification basis | Include in your RFQ | Agree for acceptance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alloy grade | 600 / UNS N06600 or 625 / UNS N06625 | Exact designation, wire condition and material specification | Approved grade and required heat-specific material records |
| Mesh and aperture | Mesh count, clear opening and weave | Nominal geometry, units, measuring method and tolerances | Measured openings and mesh count against agreed limits |
| Wire diameter | Wire size in each direction | Nominal diameter, wire condition and required tolerances | Wire measurements against the approved specification |
| Finished dimensions | Required width, length, edges and form | Dimensioned drawing, quantity and attachment details | Finished dimensions and edge condition on the agreed basis |
| Service conditions | Actual thermal, chemical and mechanical duty | Temperature, medium, concentration, pressure and support arrangement | Proposed configuration reviewed against the stated duty |
| Inspection and documents | Order-specific inspection and traceability requirements | Applicable standards, inspection records and requested certificate type | Written acceptance criteria and the agreed document package |
