Specify the Weave and the Coating Separately

Pre-crimping is done before weaving: the wires get their bends first, then interlock at the crossings, with no welding involved, unlike a welded mesh grid. The word galvanized only refers to the zinc coating on the steel; it says nothing about the crimp pattern, opening size or finished mesh dimensions. Zinc coatings protect steel by barrier and sacrificial action, while actual life depends on the coating and the exposure. This product belongs to the hot-dip galvanized steel family. In the order, confirm the base-wire grade, the galvanizing sequence and the coating acceptance criteria.

Four Checks Before You Compare Quotes

• Aperture and wire diameter：Give the clear opening and wire diameter in millimetres. Also say whether the wire diameter refers to the base wire or the finished coated wire, and whether the aperture is measured on the finished mesh. These figures mean more than a mesh-count label alone.
• Crimp pattern and opening shape：Identify the crimp construction you need and the square or other opening shape. Where weave appearance, orientation or replacement fit matters, attach a drawing or sample reference; do not assume every crimp style is available in every wire size.
• Galvanizing and inspection：Confirm whether coating is applied before or after weaving. Where needed, specify coating mass or thickness, the test method, sampling points and acceptance limits. A silver-grey look on its own cannot prove coating quality.
• Finished format and installation：Request the roll, sheet or cut-panel format you need for a feasibility check. Include width, length, edge details, quantity and the support or fixing arrangement. Confirm the agreed dimensions and tolerances before you place the order.
